Our mission is to provide compassionate rescue and lifetime sanctuary care for parrots in need while educating the community about the responsibilities and unique needs of companion parrots.

We work to create an environment where birds can feel safe, receive appropriate care, experience enrichment, and live with dignity.

We also believe that education is part of rescue.

The more people understand about parrots before bringing one into their lives, the better chance those birds have of remaining in loving, appropriate homes.

There are many ways to get involved with Feathers of A Flock,  We need our community to get involved by: 

• Cages- Cages should be clean, free of rust, chipping paint, and broken cage bars.  

• Play stands - Play stands should be clean, free of rust, and have no broken parts. Tabletop and free-standing play stands are appreciated.​

• Travel cages - Travel cages for medium and large birds are currently needed. If not new, they need to be sterilized.

•  Food - Must be unopened and not beyond the expiration date. Pellet brands: Harrison's, Roudybush, Zupreem (No Fruit Blend please), and Lafeber (including Avicakes and Nutriberries). 

•  Toys and Toy Parts - Must be new. We cannot accept used toys or toy parts due to the threat of disease. We are especially in need of pine and fir blocks with a hole in the middle. 

• Special Needs Items - Anti-pluck vests and collars made of bird-safe materials. Handicap cages are also appreciated.

• Services - Services such as pressure washing, powder coating, and welding to refinish cages, legal work to review documents, marketing services such as digital printing for flyers, banners, T-Shirts, and window decals.

•  Gift cards - Gift cards for veterinary care, gas stations, pet supply stores, hardware stores, and grocery stores.

Helping Parrots When They Need a Safe Place

Sometimes circumstances change and a family can no longer care for their parrot.

Our Rescue & Surrender Program provides a pathway for parrots who need a safe and appropriate place to go.

We work to understand each bird's individual circumstances, history, personality, and needs so that we can determine the best possible outcome.

When a parrot enters our care, the focus is on the bird's well-being.

• Reviewing surrender requests
• Learning about each bird's history and needs
• Assessing available sanctuary resources
• Providing a safe transition into care
• Supporting the bird through the adjustment period
• Determining whether sanctuary care or another appropriate placement is possible

We understand that surrendering a beloved companion can be an emotional decision.

Our focus is helping the bird—not judging the person asking for help.

 A Home for the Rest of Their Lives

Some parrots cannot or should not be placed into another home.

They may have complex needs, behavioral challenges, medical concerns, advanced age, or simply require a permanent sanctuary environment.

For these birds, Feathers of A Flock provides a commitment that goes beyond temporary rescue:

A home for life.

Our sanctuary residents depend on us for their daily needs, including:

Appropriate food and fresh ingredients to support their health.

Routine care, medical treatment, medications, diagnostics, and emergency care when needed.

Toys, activities, foraging opportunities, exploration, and mental stimulation.

Clean, secure, appropriately maintained living environments.

Respecting each bird's personality, preferences, boundaries, and need for social interaction.

The countless everyday tasks required to keep a sanctuary flock healthy and comfortable.
