Rescue. Lifetime Sanctuary. Education.
Our mission is to provide compassionate rescue and lifetime sanctuary care for parrots in need while educating the community about the responsibilities and unique needs of companion parrots.
We work to create an environment where birds can feel safe, receive appropriate care, experience enrichment, and live with dignity.
We also believe that education is part of rescue.
The more people understand about parrots before bringing one into their lives, the better chance those birds have of remaining in loving, appropriate homes.

Creating Better Futures for Parrots
At Feathers of A Flock, our work goes beyond providing a safe place for parrots to live.
We work to address the needs of parrots at every stage—from helping a bird whose family can no longer provide care, to providing lifelong sanctuary, to educating people about what it truly means to share their lives with a parrot.
Our programs are built around one goal:
Improving the lives of parrots through rescue, compassionate care, education, and community.
Helping Parrots When They Need a Safe Place
Sometimes circumstances change and a family can no longer care for their parrot.
Our Rescue & Surrender Program provides a pathway for parrots who need a safe and appropriate place to go.
We work to understand each bird's individual circumstances, history, personality, and needs so that we can determine the best possible outcome.
When a parrot enters our care, the focus is on the bird's well-being.
We understand that surrendering a beloved companion can be an emotional decision.
Our focus is helping the bird—not judging the person asking for help.
A Home for the Rest of Their Lives
Some parrots cannot or should not be placed into another home.
They may have complex needs, behavioral challenges, medical concerns, advanced age, or simply require a permanent sanctuary environment.
For these birds, Feathers of A Flock provides a commitment that goes beyond temporary rescue:
A home for life.
Our sanctuary residents depend on us for their daily needs, including:
Appropriate food and fresh ingredients to support their health.
Routine care, medical treatment, medications, diagnostics, and emergency care when needed.
Toys, activities, foraging opportunities, exploration, and mental stimulation.
Clean, secure, appropriately maintained living environments.
Respecting each bird's personality, preferences, boundaries, and need for social interaction.
The countless everyday tasks required to keep a sanctuary flock healthy and comfortable.
Helping People Understand the Birds They Love
Education is one of the most important ways we can improve the lives of parrots.
Parrots are intelligent, long-lived animals with complex physical, emotional, and social needs.
Unfortunately, many people don't realize the level of commitment involved until after a parrot has already become part of their family.
Our education efforts are designed to help people make informed decisions and become better parrot guardians.
Fewer parrots entering crisis because more people understand their needs from the beginning.
Bringing Parrot Welfare Into the Community
The well-being of parrots doesn't stop at the sanctuary doors.
Community outreach allows us to connect with people who may never have visited a sanctuary but who can benefit from learning about parrots.
Through community events, educational opportunities, social media, partnerships, and public awareness efforts, we work to share information and encourage responsible parrot guardianship.
PARTNER WITH US
Supporting the Whole Bird
A parrot's health isn't limited to whether it is eating and drinking.
Good sanctuary care means paying attention to the whole bird.
We strive to monitor the physical and behavioral well-being of our residents and respond when their needs change.
Our care philosophy includes attention to:
Physical health
Nutrition
Behavior
Mental stimulation
Environmental safety
Social needs
Quality of life
We recognize that every parrot is different.
What works for one bird may not work for another.
Individualized care matters.
Feathers of A Flock is committed to growing thoughtfully and responsibly.
We don't measure success simply by how many birds come through our doors.
We measure success by the quality of care we provide, the lives we improve, the knowledge we share, and the community we build around parrot welfare.
Every bird matters.
Every life matters.
Every act of compassion matters.
