Our Sanctuary goals are to focus on saving Parrots from neglect, abuse, and unsafe environments. We work around the clock to provide a Permanent safe Home, medical care, and unconditional love.
Day as a Volunteer with us- You will get to work with some amazing Parrots, you will get to see many personalities here at our sanctuary. You will be showing them that the world is caring and giving them hope to a better future. Not only will you be working for a better future you are allowing participants to make a tangible difference while gaining valuable personal and professional growth. Volunteering not only help address pressing needs but also foster empathy, teamwork, and cultural understanding. By engaging in volunteering programs like this, you can build stronger connections with others, develop new abilities, and experience the fulfillment that comes from giving back without expecting anything in return. Ultimately, volunteering is a bridge between compassion and action, turning goodwill into real-world impact.
We also have a Youth Program for the age group 13-17 as-well. We here at Feathers of A Flock believe that our youth is our next generation and they will be the ones who change our next stage in life. They will get to learn the difference of species of parrots and how each are different, maybe they will understand how much we need Avian vets and would like to become one, also they will learn what it takes to have a parrot as a companion. They will get to learn how some species of parrots are becoming Endangered and how their impact can change the course of their future. If we can get our youth involved now, then they are able to understand what it means to be part of a Team, build stronger bonds and connections with others, plus this gives them a great outlook saying they got to be part of something bigger then themselves. With the youth understanding what it takes to care for a parrot maybe they can change the course owning a parrot, by spreading the knowledge of what it takes and how long the commitment is to care for one of these amazing creatures. We also do letter of recommendation for volunteering for Colleges, job applications, internship, academic and high school volunteering programs.
Did you know that we here at Feathers of A Flock we are volunteer-run organization? At our Sanctuary we need a consistent motivated individuals to help out with our day-to-day operations. Examples of these ongoing positions are grant writers, cage cleaning, Parrot Socializing. Do you only have occasional time to help? Opportunities include toy making and assistance with transporting donations items such has cages, food, etc.
How do I volunteer?
Do volunteers interact directly with birds?
Most of our volunteer positions do not directly interact with our Flock, but instead help us in day-to-day operations like cleaning cages, helping with food & water, making toys. For those wishing to interact directly with parrots, they must take our Bird 101 class the first day of Volunteering.
